Bathroom Floors
Once your tub is in place and your plumbing is connected, you can lay the floor using a plywood sub floor or whatever surface is appropriate for the type of flooring you are installing.
You can choose from tile, vinyl, or even wood (though wood is not necessarily the best choice for a bathroom). If you choose to install a tile floor, use the directions in the ‘Kitchen’ section above to prepare the installation surface, measure, cut and lay your tile.
If you are using vinyl flooring in the bathroom, you will want to fill any low spots or cracks with latex floor patch to level the floor, then roll a piece of scribing felt and cut it to fit the entire floor.

down the edges of the felt against the walls. Cut small holes so you can feed tape through the holes to tape the felt to the vinyl when you cut the vinyl template.
Roll out your vinyl on a hard surface and place the felt template on the vinyl. Cut the vinyl with a sharp utility knife. Be sure you cut with a sharp blade so you do not tear or create an uneven edge.
If you buy perimeter vinyl you only have to glue around the edges. If you buy sheet vinyl you must glue the vinyl across the entire floor, working from one edge of the room to the other edge methodically.
Use the instructions provided by the vinyl flooring manufacturing to lay and glue the flooring.
